CFB Preseason Top 25: #22 West Virginia

The Mountaineers were having a story book season until getting steam rolled by Oklahoma at home last year. Still a 10-3 record is a great year for a team that isn’t historically great and they should be in the hunt for a Big 12 title again this year. With the league as a whole getting better they really need to take care of their out of conference schedule early in the year. That is obviously highlighted by a matchup with Virginia Tech to start the season but if they can win that game it should be smooth sailing until going to TCU on Oct 7th.

Some of the biggest losses from last years team included their top cornerback Rasul Douglas. Expect Elijah Battle to step in and hope to fill those big shoes. A huge addition is previously suspended ex-Florida QB Will Greer. Before his suspension at Florida he really looked to be the next big thing and in this offense he should be just fine. I can see this team averaging over 35 points a game on offense and they can only hope their defense can get some turnovers and redzone stops.
